Bristol-based vehicle leasing firm ALD Automotive has become the first business to partner with the city’s Women’s Tech Hub and Women’s Tech Jobs.

The hub’s mission is to create a support system for women in technology, focusing on practical strategies such as mentoring and confidence boosting. It launched Women’s Tech Jobs to find great companies for women in technology to work with and be supported throughout their careers.

Women’s Tech Jobs works with businesses to support them in becoming more female-friendly places to work through support with talent acquisition, employer branding, diversity and inclusion.

ALD, Europe’s leading vehicle leasing operation with more than 1.5m vehicles across 43 countries worldwide, has a strong track record of encouraging and supporting women among its 450 staff at its showpiece headquarters building at Emersons Green.

Women’s Tech Jobs director Janice Rae said: “We’re thrilled to be working with ALD Automotive, who are a truly forward-thinking organisation. We’ve been so impressed with how women in tech are encouraged and supported in the business. ALD is really setting itself apart in this area and we’re delighted to be partnering with them on their journey.”

ALD resourcing business partner Rob Baker added: “We’re very excited to form what we hope will be a long-term partnership with the Women’s Tech Hub. Having been introduced by a member of our IT team, we have been very impressed on a number of levels and it didn’t take us long to decide we’d like to become a sponsor. It’s very clear that they’re offering true, impartial support, advice and guidance to their members.

“We actively promote equal opportunity, fairness and impartiality and the values and ethics of the Women’s Tech Hub are closely aligned to our own core business values. We believe that diversity strengthens our business, providing new ideas and allowing us to continue to be one of the most innovative organisations in our sector.”
