Bristol firms interested in exporting can find out more at a number of special events in and around the city next week as part of Exporting is GREAT Week.
Hosted by UKTI South West, the events are aimed at those just starting out on their export journey as well as more experienced exporters.
The Exporting is GREAT initiative was launched last November and aims to provide advice and expertise to support businesses at every step on their exporting journey, from initial interest to selling in-market.
It forms part of the Exporting is GREAT Campaign, the government’s initiative to inspire and support 100,000 additional exporters.
The week of seminars and workshops kicks off with the regional launch of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG) on 18 April from 5pm to 7pm. This event is co-hosted by UKTI and law firm DAC Beachcroft and will be held at DAC Beachcroft’s office on Portwell Lane.
Speakers will include BCCG board member Andreas Meyer-Schwickerath, Bristol Chamber & Initiative at Business West chief executive James Durie, and UKTI South West international trade adviser Hilary Charman. They will give an introduction to trading with Germany, including practical advice and case studies of South West firms that have successfully sold their products and services on the German market.
Other Exporting is GREAT events in the region include a seminar on Trading with USA on Monday April 18 at Leigh Court, Abbots Leigh; Doing Business with Vietnam at the same venue on Thursday April 21; and Accessing Opportunity in South East Asia, also on Thursday 21 April (venue to be confirmed).
UKTI South West regional director Jason Carter said: “This is the perfect opportunity to highlight the vast range of support that is out there for both potential and existing exporters. I’d urge all businesses with an interest in exporting to visit www.exportingisgreat.gov.uk to find out more about the events and opportunities available in their region.”
