Exclusive events venue Clevedon Hall has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards, recognising the seaside mansion as a premier location for luxury weddings.
The nominations for Best Historic Wedding Venue and Best Coastal Wedding Venue in the UK Wedding Awards come following the completion of a £4.2m, six-year project to transform the Grade II* listed building.
Extensive refurbishment has restored the ornate Victorian property, which stands in several acres of landscaped gardens overlooking a lake, back to its former glory.
The combination of history and tradition with contemporary luxury, means Clevedon Hall can offer a fully personalised event service. It has a license to hold civil ceremonies, enabling it to host weddings from start to finish.
And unlike many well-known wedding venues, the historic hall does not function as a hotel. Instead it focuses solely on events, providing brides and grooms-to-be with much more flexibility on their special day.
The 35,000 sq ft property can cater for up to 200 guests during the day and 250 in the evening.
Clevedon Hall, which is owned and run by the McCarthy family, also has 25 ensuite bedrooms designed by interior designer Jane Clayton’s team in country house style, each with its own unique look and views down to the sea.
Michelin-trained executive chef Alan Jones, who has previously worked at Michelin-starred Lucknam Park and Cowley Manor, works closely with couples to draw up their perfect menu using locally sourced produce.

The UK Wedding Awards seek to identify and reward key businesses – from individuals and independents to high street favourites and designer brands – that help to make the journey from just-engaged to married couples as fun and magical as possible.
The awards will be decided by public vote, which closes on 9th February, with the winners announced in the spring editions of wedding magazines Perfect Wedding and You & Your Wedding and on hitched.com.
