Integrated wealth management and professional services group Evelyn Partners has made two senior appointments in its Bristol office, including a new professional services managing partner.
Helen Bassett, pictured with new restructuring & recovery partner Chris Marsden, joined the Bristol office of what was then Solomon Hare in 2000 as an apprentice and has now taken over as professional services managing partner.
She succeeds Nigel Hardy, who will remain as an audit partner in the office.
At the same time, Chris Marsden has been become a partner in the office’s restructuring & recovery team.
Both appointments come as Evelyn Partners prepares to relocate the office from Portwall Place to the neighbouring prestigious new EQ development later this year.
In her new role, Helen will lead the professional services team in Bristol and work closely with Richard Mikdadi and John Davies, who respectively lead the office’s financial planning and investment management teams.
An accountancy business services adviser who supports high-growth, entrepreneurial businesses, Helen is skilled in accounting related outsourcing compliance and advisory.
Chris Marsden is an experienced business restructuring specialist and joins Evelyn Partners from accountancy group BDO’s Bristol office, where he spent more than four years as a partner in the business restructuring team.
Prior to that he held senior positions at Moore Stephens and EY.
Evelyn Partners chief professional services director Andrew Wilkes said: “I’m very pleased that Helen has agreed to lead our growing professional services team in Bristol.
“Helen has made an enormous contribution since joining the group more than 20 years ago and I look forward to working closely with her as we continue to develop and expand our business in the South West.
“We are committed to further strengthening our team in Bristol and the ability for us to attract new partners with the experience of Chris Marsden is testimony to our reputation in the region.”
Helen added: “I’m delighted to have been asked to lead the Bristol professional services team at such an exciting time for the office as we prepare to gear up to re-locate to the EQ development.
“I would like to thank Nigel for his leadership of the office over the past three-and-a-half years and look forward to continuing to work closely with him in my new role.
“I am proud to work alongside a talented team in Bristol and in my new role am committed to ensuring that our people have the opportunities to continue developing in their careers.
“We are also continuing to invest in hiring additional experienced practitioners to support our growth ambitions in the region and to that effect I’m very pleased to welcome Chris Marsden to our Bristol office.”
