Trio of arrivals for consultancy Harmonic as it sounds out further growth

Management consultancy Harmonic, which has an office in Bristol, has made a series of senior appointments as it seeks to increase its presence in the public and private sectors.

Joining the company – which works with organisations such as BAE Systems, Balfour Beatty and the Ministry of Defence to help manage change, build resilience and take action to gain competitive advantage – are Matt Hatson, Gavin Docherty and Hal Bent. 

Harmonic, which has its head office in Ilminster, Somerset, and employs around 65 people, works in partnership with clients to manage change, improve ways of working and deliver contracts effectively and profitably.

Specialisms include system and solutions engineering, using P3 (project, programme and portfolio) management to achieve desired outcomes and embedding transformation into organisations.

Matt, pictured right, is now the firm’s managing consultant (strategy and capture) based in its Bristol office. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management and began his career with GEC Alsthom as an electronics engineer.

He later moved to Babcock Integrated Technology in Bristol, where he ran its surface ship and submarine propulsion division before moving into sales and then business consultancy, where he oversaw bid, tender and gateway reviews.

Hal, pictured below, has joined Harmonic as principal consultant (portfolio and programme). He previously worked for a number of leading banks and management consultants, including HSBC, Santander and Barclays, and has a wealth of experience in delivering complex business change and technical projects across financial services, IT, management consultancy, health and the public sector. 

Gavin, who arrives as principal consultant (portfolio and programme), worked in mechanical and production engineering before moving onto business and IT process improvement, most recently provided leadership and strategic vision to support client company leaders and team members in areas of digital transformation strategy, businesses development and delivery capability.

Harmonic COO Cliff Green said: “Matt, Gavin and Hal are outstanding individuals who possess different talents, and, between them, have a wealth of experience in the core sectors we are well known in.
