Bristol recruitment agency Kingston Barnes has teamed up with a pioneering environmental organisation to plant a tree for each of its candidate it permanently places in work.
The partnership with London-based Evertreen is already bearing fruit – since it began in July 55 trees have been planted, offsetting more than 38.5 tonnes of CO2.
Kingston Barnes. which specialises in supplying staff to the construction and property, manufacturing, technical engineering and logistics industries, said the aim was to nurture a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.
The trees are planted in England and every permanently placed candidate is gifted their tree in celebration of their new career.
Kingston Barnes managing director James Kingston said by planting trees and fostering sustainable ecosystems, the partnership promised significant environmental benefits for everyone.
“This initiative allows us to help our candidates thrive while contributing to a greener planet” he added.
“By planting a tree for every permanent placement we offset our carbon footprint, promote environmental change and support local communities, not only supporting our carbon-neutral status but helping us take the next step towards our goal of becoming a carbon negative company.”
The link-up with Evertreen follows Kingston Barnes’ certification in May 2024 as carbon neutral by Carbon Neutral Britain.
