Regional law firm Ashfords has been named as one of the most active across the world for venture capital and private equity-backed deals.
The firm, which has an office in Bristol, appears fourth in Europe and 24th worldwide in the global league tables for the second quarter of 2018 produced by international financial data group PitchBook.
PitchBook’s annual global league tables detail top investors by region, location of headquarters and assets under management, as well as the most active law firms and acquirers of private equity-backed and venture capital-backed companies.
Ashfords’ presence in the prestigious table underlines its position as a leading venture capital practice in Europe and reflects its continued progress over the past year.
During the past six months the firm has advised investors including Notion, BGF, Local Globe, Holtzbrinck Ventures, Touchstone Innovations, Technology Venture Partners, Andurance Ventures and Episode 1.
Among the businesses it has advised over the same period have been Kopernio, Lingumi, Living Map, Mobius Motors and Emoov.
Ashfords technology group head Chris Dyson, pictured, who is based in its Bristol office, said: “Ashfords has been ranked in the top five most active law firms in Europe for five consecutive quarters. This is a fantastic result for the firm and further cements our reputation as a leading venture capital practice.”
The firm employs around 500 people across its offices in Exeter, London, Bristol, Taunton, Tiverton and Plymouth.
