Kevin Butler, who was the Bank of England's head of audit and regional agent for the South West, has joined chartered accountants Milsted Langdon in Bristol as consultant economist.

Plans are already in place for Mr Butler to  address a number of seminars on economics-related topics as well as hosting a series of events over the coming months as part of a new Business Club for invited guests of Milsted Langdon which also has offices in Taunton and Yeovil.

The firm has also recruited a new IT manager, Geoff Crofts, who will be responsible for managing and maintaining its computer system across all three offices.  Alan House joins the firm’s Yeovil office as an accounts senior while the firm’s insolvency team has also expanded with the addition of trainee Adam Faulkner as an insolvency administrator.

Jonathan Langdon, chairman and founding partner, said:  "Kevin is highly respected within the local business community for his pragmatic and down-to-earth economic analysis. I am delighted to have someone as experienced and knowledgeable as him working for us. I am confident that clients and colleagues alike will benefit from having him on board.”

Mr Langdon added: "While many other firms are having to make cutbacks, our continuing growth means we have been able to further expand our team."
