GVA Health, the Bristol-based specialist healthcare team at independent property adviser GVA, has had its expertise within the primary care sector recognised with a major industry award.
Senior director Richard Taylor, who heads the primary care team with fellow director Tim Scruton, picked up the Property Adviser of the Year accolade at the General Practice Awards 2012.
Organised by three leading primary care magazines – GP Business, Nursing in Practice and Management in Practice – the awards celebrate success and innovation in the primary care sector.
More than 900 guests attended the prestigious black-tie event at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel, including GPs, clinical commissioners, practice managers and nurses, with the awards attracting hundreds of entries over twenty categories. The keynote speech was given by Andy Burnham, shadow health secretary.
Senior director Richard Taylor said: “It is a huge honour to have received this award. It is undeniably a great accolade for the entire team. Our multi-disciplined approach ensures our clients benefit from a combined understanding of the health and care sectors where we can respond quickly to policy changes that may affect their property interests.”
The specialist team at GVA, the UK’s largest independent property adviser, has advised on a number of high quality medical centre developments over the last twelve months. A number of these are in the South West, including Kingswood Health Centre, Berrow Health Campus, and the Pucklechurch Surgery.
“With an average capital value of around £5m, the complexity and 'clinician' contact with consultants and nursing teams is akin to any major acute hospital development, and demonstrates GVA’s ability to deliver both technical and commercial solutions in a highly regulated sector,” added Richard.
“We have acted for over 250 GP practices and partnerships over the last ten years. Our success is partly due to forming successful team relationship with clients – and we are well accustomed to working with client teams for 3-4 years on average.
“We have unparalleled market and national coverage in the sector. Accordingly clients and projects have a similar geographical spread with schemes from Ashford in Kent to Inverness in Scotland, with client groups ranging from banks and other lending institutions, to community hospitals and GP practices and partnerships.”
The team covers a full range of transactional and professional property services, including agency advice, investment and development, architecture, BREEAM assessments, building surveying, business rates and financial consulting, lease consultancy, planning, project management, strategic consultancy and valuation services.
GVA Health is a specialist team of over 60 experienced professionals that advise clients operating in the primary, independent and public health and care sectors.
The national service can be accessed from all 12 of GVA’s regional offices, ensuring that clients’ property needs can be accessed locally.
