Early bird tickets for the inaugural Something Good design festival went on sale today as the final line-up of speakers and workshops is announced.

The unique two-day festival, which celebrates the best of modern design, takes place in Bristol on October 6 and 7 and will feature some of the most inspirational and innovative contemporary designers.

A day of inspiring creative talks across various disciplines will be followed by a day of creative workshops across the city. Workshop tickets will go on sale next Friday May 12.

The initial guest line-up includes outspoken Swedish consultancy Snask, pictured below left, graphic artist, print-maker and designer Anthony Burrill and sculptor Wilfrid Wood, pictured below right.

Also taking part will be Dutch graphics firm Trapped in Suburbia, artist Brendan Dawes and Bristol-based artist and Aardman Animations senior designer Gavin Strange.

As well as creative talks across various disciplines, there will be a Real Good after party and a full day of creative workshops from the likes of Anthony Burrill, Miscellaneous Adventures, Wilfred Wood and Handsome Frank across the city on the Saturday.

On Friday October 6, the iconic building St George’s concert venue will play host to a day of talks from a carefully curated team of creatives working across different disciplines and mediums. The line-up includes Snask, Anthony Burrill, Morag Myerscough, Trapped in Suburbia, Marta Veludo, Brendan Dawes, Wilfrid Wood and Gavin Strange, and will be hosted by founder and editor-in-chief of Intern Magazine Alec Dudson.

Throughout the day they will share stories and anecdotes of how they got to where they are today, how they tackle challenging creative briefs, where they find inspiration and how they keep themselves stimulated outside of commercial work.

Saturday 7th October is a chance for people to get their hands dirty, with a series of hands-on workshops hosted by leading creatives, in venues across the city.

Workshops will include Letterpress with Anthony Burrill, Working with Wood with Miscellaneous Adventures, Tarot-card making with Sophy Hollington, Plasticine portraits with Wilfrid Wood, Portfolio reviews with Handsome Frank, Papercutting with Sam Pierpoint and Out There with Intern Magazine.

Something Good is being organised and curated by thread – a community interest company (CIC) that organises inspiring talks, workshops and get-togethers for the creative community of Bristol and the South West.

Tickets will be available from somethinggoodbristol.com
