Recruitment consultancy Thorn Baker, which has an office in Bristol, has been awarded the coveted Three Star Accreditation from Best Companies after making significant improvements across all areas of the business.
The accreditation, judged solely on confidential employee engagement surveys, is widely recognised as the most academically rigorous measure of workplace fulfilment, motivation and engagement.
The survey results, once collated, are ranked according by their Best Companies Index (BCI) score. Only the companies with the highest levels of overall engagement scores are given the top honours – and qualify for the Best 100 Small Companies list.
Thorn Baker, which works across six sectors including construction, industry, estates, facilities and maintenance, office and professional, technical and engineering and sales and marketing, improved its BCI score by more than 50 points, making gains in all eight factors which are measured, including ‘leadership’, ‘teambuilding’ and ‘wellbeing’.

The firm has also been named on The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For in 2015 list.
