Each week Bristol Business News gives a prominent member of the area’s business community the last word on its weekly e-bulletin.
This week Rebecca Tregarthen, Chairman of IoD Bristol, answers our 10 questions
Film you watched? Lucy starring Scarlett Johanssen
Book you read? Marianne Dreams by Catherine Storr; a re-read from childhood and a story of determination and friendship winning over in the face of initial reticence and over-reaction – something we could all learn from!
Music you bought? Happy by Pharell Williams; one of the most infectious tunes I’ve heard for a long time and brilliant for pepping up the mood at all times
Concert you went to? Gabrielle at the Colston Hall; years ago…I’m not a good concert-goer, clearly!
Sporting event you attended? Goodwood Revival; an annual celebration of vintage cars, racing and fashion – perfect excuse to dress up in 1940s to 1960s clothing and soak up the atmosphere
Holiday you went on? Four days in the Algarve in April – worked too hard over the summer though and definitely need a break before the dreaded Christmas festivities come round again!
Last restaurant you ate in? The Lido, Bristol; a venue that’s a firm favourite with me as well as several of our members.
Thing that annoyed you? People and companies not taking advantage of opportunity for change or growth; it’s an area we discuss frequently within IoD circles when we see so much positivity in markets at the moment
Thing that made you laugh out loud? Claudia Winkelman on Strictly Come Dancing; her approach is warm, sparkly and brilliant with beautifully judged self-deprecating humour.
Piece of good advice you were given? You have two ears for a reason; listening is one of the best skills you can have. It takes patience but use it well.
