Each week Bristol Business News gives a prominent member of the city’s business community the last word on its weekly e-bulletin.
This week Eileen Cronin, regional director of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, answers our 10 questions.
What was the LAST:
The film you watched? Taken 3 with Liam Neeson. I thought it was gripping and as good as Taken 1 despite the fact that Liam Neeson is not quite as young as he used to be.
Book you read? Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. It was an intriguing novel, and one I have been meaning to start for a while. It kept me hooked the whole way through and had a real thrill element to it. I also enjoy books that are mysteries so this ended up being a great read.
Music you bought/downloaded? Paloma Faith’s A Perfect Contradiction. I think she is brilliant and a definite favourite of mine.
Concert or play you went to? I was lucky enough to go to a Take That concert when all four of them performing. It was at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and was quite a show! It is one of those concerts that stays with you for a while and is definitely up there with being one of the best concerts I’ve attended.
Sporting Event you attended? I don’t really go to many sporting events unfortunately. However the last sporting event I went to was the Cheltenham Races, which was a really great day out.
Holiday you went on? I have just returned from a week in France and Belgium. My husband Mike and I celebrated Valentine’s Day there and it was also my birthday which made the timing brilliant. It was great to get out of the office for a while and see some different parts of Europe.
Restaurant you ate in? For a real treat, I love to eat at Raymond Blanc in Bristol. The food they serve is delicious and the service is always great.
Thing that annoyed you? When I see people being rude to shop assistants or waiting staff – I understand people can feel frustrated sometimes but I don’t think it’s fair to take it out on people who are just trying to do their job.
Thing that made you laugh out loud? I laugh out loud quite often. I work with such a great team at Barclays who keep me laughing all the time. A sense of humour in our office is obligatory!
Piece of good advice you were given? My mother always said you should always treat others as you wish to be treated yourself.
