Bristol-headquartered national law firm TLT has made 10 partner promotions in a move it says reflects its commitment to progressing female talent – with women accounting for two-thirds of its partner promotions over the past three years.
Six of the new partners, pictured below, work in the firm’s commercial services group, with three from the financial services disputes and investigations team within its banking and lender services group and one in the real estate group.
The firm now has 159 partners and around 1,200 people.
TLT said the gender split across promotions resulted in part, from a number of initiatives launched over the past 12 months to address the issue, including an enhanced menopause offering, as well as more flexible working and the creation of a “people-first” culture.;
The newly promoted partners in the commercial services group are Ayla Skene in the international trade team and Vanessa Cooper from the general commercial team, Catherine Turtle, James Wilson from the public inquiries and public law team, Louisa Williams from the data, tech and IP team and Thomas Ward in the firm’s restructuring and insolvency team.
Alanna Tregear, Chantal Peters and Steve Walpole are the three from the financial services disputes and investigations team while Alexandra Holsgrove Jones becomes TLT’s first knowledge partner in the real estate group.
The promotions follow a successful year for TLT during which it celebrated a record revenues of £144m.
This was achieved during the first year of its new strategy for 2025, which aims to drive robust financial growth by increasing resources, developing the firm’s reach locally, nationally and internationally, and using the latest integrated technology, while delivering a progressive workplace agenda with market leading sustainability.
TLT chief people officer Helen Hodgkinson, pictured above, said: “Congratulations to all our talented colleagues who have been promoted to partner this year.
“It has been an exciting 12 months at TLT. By championing flexible working and creating a people-first culture, the firm has cemented its position as one of the most progressive and inclusive law firms in the country.
“Our 2023 promotions recognise the contributions our people make to our continued growth and success.”
TLT senior partner Sasha Butterworth, pictured, added that last year TLT celebrated record financial results and was recognised across numerous awards, including winning Law Firm of the Year at the British Legal Awards 2022.
“None of these achievements would be possible without the hard work of everyone at TLT,” she said.
“I’m pleased to see promotions ranging across our practice groups, sectors and locations, reflecting our full-service and UK-wide offering.”
TLT also promoted one colleague to legal director, 26 senior associates to managing associate level and 31 associates to senior associate level across its offices in Glasgow, Belfast, London and Manchester as well as Bristol.
