Bristol and London law firm Temple Bright has advised on the second phase of a project by long-standing client Ambulatory Surgery International (ASI) to convert offices in London’s Marylebone into a high-end healthcare day surgery and outpatient diagnostics facility.
Welbeck Health, ASI’s trading name, is a day surgery start-up in the UK private medical market. 
The Marylebone scheme, OneWelbeck, pictured, is its first facility and includes imaging suites, general consulting, operating theatres, procedure rooms and recovery facilities over nine floors.
OneWelbeck aims to deliver levels of comfort and care beyond those usually available in the UK market.
The first phase of works at OneWelbeck, completed earlier in the year with assistance from Temple Bright, involved refurbishment and conversion of the basement up to the third floor. Works within this phase included state-of-the-art facilities for gastroenterology, cardiology, and orthopaedics, as well as a world-class imaging and diagnostics suite.
The recently completed second phase comprises shell and core alterations and the fit-out of levels five and six to accommodate further specialties, including women’s healthcare, ENT, dermatology, respiratory health, and space for an executive screening program.
In addition to advising on the second phase works on levels five and six, Temple Bright has recently assisted on a project variation to enable further works on level seven, which are due to conclude before Christmas, and in procuring a range of smaller works.
ASI is investigating further sites for future centres and plans to launch 20 over the next five years.

Temple Bright was launched in Bristol in 2010, using a tech-enabled, streamlined business model. It opened a second office in London EC2 in 2013 and now has 74 partners, evenly spread across the two locations.
