Clifton-based IT recruitment consultancy Redrock has appointed Clevedon firm Pure Comms as its telecoms provider in a move it says has already boosted its customer service while saving money.
Redrock director Darren Chapman said his company had experienced too much down time from its previous provider.
“Redrock has 40 consultants who are on the phone all day,” he said. “Our business is built on being able to make calls and place candidates with clients. It sounds obvious but if the phones are down we may as well start throwing money down the drain.”
Pure Comms worked with Redrock, which last year posted a £24m turnover, to develop a bespoke system modelled around its business requirements.
Pure Comms managing director Rob Vivian (pictured) said: “This included the installation of a fail over device, which means that if one part of the equipment fails then another will kick in, ensuring there is zero down time.”
Despite Pure Comms being more expensive than its previous provider, Redrock has saved money.
Mr Chapman said: “Ironically, we were paying a lower monthly fee but because of all the downtime it ended up costing us more in lost revenue.
“We’re paying a little bit more now but saving money because of the expert service we’ve bought into. We get 24/7 support and really are dealing with a provider that is interested in doing what’s best for our businesses.”
Mr Vivian said many providers are slashing prices to win contracts – “in effect creating a race to the bottom in which the end-users lose out on service,” he said.
Set up in 2009, Pure Comms works with clients across a number of sectors including leading fuel supplier BWOC, Bristol Airport and Computerworld.
