Bristol-headquartered national law firm Burges Salmon has appointed 11 new directors in a move it said reflected its ambitious strategy for growth across a number of key practices, sectors and specialisms.

The promotions, which take effect from 1 May, are across the firm’s banking and finance, construction and engineering, corporate, dispute resolution, pensions, planning and compulsory purchase, projects, real estate, and private client teams.

Burges Salmon also said the appointments reinforced its continued focus on delivering an exceptional service to its clients, and each new director would add considerably to the success of the firm.

The new directors are Tom Perret and Kate Seymour (real estate), Ronnie Myers and Edward Hayes (private client services), Gregor Hayworth (dispute resolution), Cathryn Tracey (planning and compulsory purchase), Rob Russell-Smith, (construction and engineering), Punim Anda (projects), Richard Hugo (corporate), Kate Granville-Smith (pensions) and Nick Middleton (banking and finance).

Burges Salmon managing partner Roger Bull, pictured, said: “It is gratifying to be able to announce these director appointments at the firm. Combined with the five new internal partner promotions this year, these appointments emphasise our ambitious growth plans as a business.

“Each new director is an exceptionally talented lawyer within their field and will have a significant role to play in fulfilling our vision of being the market-leading independent UK law firm.”

Burges Salmon employs around 1,000 people in its Bristol HQ and London and Edinburgh offices.
