Helvetic Airways will inaugurate on Monday the first scheduled service between Bristol and Zurich for more than four years. The new service will link businesses across the region to one of Europe’s major financial centres. Zurich also has much to offer leisure travellers including skiers – the city’s airport serves renowned resorts such as Klosters and Wengen.
For Swiss passengers, Bristol Airport provides a convenient gateway to the South West countryside made popular in the German-language television adaptation of Rosamunde Pilcher’s novels set in the region. Bruno Jans, chief executive officer of Helvetic Airways, will fly in to meet local business and tourism representatives before joining passengers to board the first outbound flight to Zurich at 10.55am.
