Annual revenue has soared by 33% at Bristol-based B2B and corporate communications specialist Ambitious, strengthening its position as one of the region’s largest independent PR agencies.

The agency, which is on track to turn over £2.2m this year, has also made several strategic hires alongside an internal promotion.

And in a further boost, it is celebrating an impressive 93% client retention rate and a fourth successive year achieving a 100% staff retention rate

The new arrivals at Ambitious, which was founded in 2012 and now has a 25-strong team, pictured at the agency’s summer party, are Laura Lear, who joins as deputy managing director, Amy Ferrier, who takes up the newly created position of production manager, and tech specialist PR Consultant Luke Allsop.

Meanwhile, associate director Dani Andres has been promoted to the role of campaigns & community director, in which she will focus on continuing the agency’s purpose-driven work.

As deputy managing director, Laura, pictured, centre, with Dani and Amy, will support the next phase of agency development and lead on corporate PR and strategic comms.

With a career spanning work with industry giants Edelman, McCann and, most recently, tech specialist Hotwire, she brings more than 20 years’ experience to the Ambitious management team.

Amy will further build and strengthen the agency’s content studio while Luke will deepen its tech PR expertise.

Recently added clients include software developer PeopleCert, Greece’s first unicorn business, Bath care provider The Good Care Group and Bristol-based cloud marketplace Pax8.

AMBITIOUS co-owner and director Sarah Woodhouse said: “We’ve seen healthy growth during a time of economic uncertainty, bucking trends in our market.

“We attribute this to the loyalty of our team and clients and our diversification into content and strategic communications to offer holistic and integrated communications services.”

The agency has also won a string of awards this year, including the for best employer at the Bristol Life awards. It was also featured in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024, while its business culture was ‘highly commended’ by PR Week – the world’s leading PR & comms publication – in its Best Places to Work list.
