Bristol-based retail support services specialist eXPD8 has played a key role in the nationwide launch of the DVD of one this year’s biggest film releases, The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
The film has already grossed more than £16m at the box office. It is the second blockbuster launch managed by eXPD8 in as many months following The Lego Movie in July.
eXPD8 has played a crucial part in ensuring that the film is available, appropriately stocked and promoted in more than 2,000 stores across the country.
Using tablet technology eXPD8’s retail support team has been showing in-store staff previews of the film to enable them to talk knowledgably about the blockbuster and maximise sales potential. eXPD8 also uses digital platforms to educate, inform and entertain staff to help deliver national launches and run internal competitions to motivate team members during exciting projects.
Director Mark Thurgood said: “Managing the launch of a global blockbuster is not an easy task. However, our nationwide team, together with our fully-integrated IT system, has effectively managed the retail set-up, ensuring movie lovers get their hands on one of the biggest films of the year and sales targets are achieved across the country.
“We work closely with a number of clients, including most of the film studios, ensuring their products are fully supported and available within thousands of retail outlets across the UK and Ireland. Our experienced personnel deliver best in class results, time after time and we are very proud of them.”
eXPD8 provides retail support services to retailers, fast-moving consumer goods brands and film studios across the UK and Ireland. The £22m turnover company was launched in Bristol in 2003 and today employs more than 2,500 staff across the UK and Ireland.
