Paula Williams, a senior associate in law firm Veale Wasbrough Vizards’ (VWV) Bristol trade marks team, has qualified as a registered trade mark attorney – one of only seven based in the city.
Paula joins a select number of solicitors in the UK who are qualified both as a solicitor and as a registered trade mark attorney.
VWV’s trade marks team provide services including registering trade marks in the UK and overseas, trade mark licensing and trade mark enforcement. Having members with dual qualification means a more efficient service for the team’s clients.
VWV managing partner Simon Heald said: “Paula’s dual qualification reflects our expertise and commitment to intellectual property protection.
“Our trade mark clients are wide-ranging – from household brands to charities and schools. Congratulations to Paula on a great achievement.”
Client Andrew Grant, commercial & operations director at national estate agency Hunters Property, described Paula as “an intellectual property guru”.
He added: “An expert in analysis, interpretation, problem solving, dispute resolution and execution. Paula listens, understands and delivers. An asset to any business interested in brand protection.”
Out of 132,520 solicitors practising in the UK, Paula is one of only 242 qualified both as a solicitor and as a registered trade mark attorney.
