West charities and not-for-profit organisations could win a year’s digital marketing support worth almost £10,000 in a competition staged by social media marketing company Noisy Little Monkey.
Each organisation that enters the aptly-named Big Noise for a Good Cause gets its own ‘page’ on the Noisy Little Monkey website which includes a statement on why they should win.
The winner will be decided by a public vote and a judging panel that includes representatives from the chamber of commerce in Bristol and Shepton Mallet, which are supporting the initiative.
To enter, registered charities, not-for-profits and social enterprises should visit Shepton Mallet and Bristol-based Noisy Little Monkey’s website (www.NoisyLittleMonkey.com) and follow the instructions.
Noisy Little Monkey founder and director Jon Payne said: “With most charities finding 2012 a tougher year than ever, we understand how much pressure not-for-profits are under right now, both in terms of raising funds and being able to continue supporting those who rely on their help.
“Keeping loyal supporters and attracting new donors is therefore high on the agenda for many of the region’s not-for-profits. This is where we think using social media marketing can really help, hence our Big Noise for a Good Cause competition.
“While only one organisation will win, all those that enter will get their own page on the Noisy Little Monkey site, which they will then be able to share through Twitter and Facebook and their other social media channels to get votes. So hopefully, just by participating, everyone that takes part will be able to use their involvement as a way to connect with existing and potential supporters and draw attention to their cause.”
The winning organisation will work with Noisy Little Monkey to develop a bespoke campaign tailored to suit its specific requirements. This could include search engine optimisation, social media marketing, website and content creation, digital marketing training and mobile optimisation.
The competition is open for entries until midnight this Sunday 21. Applications are invited from organisations based in Bristol and Somerset, or from those working with communities in these areas. Public voting will take place between 29 April and 19 May. The results of the public vote and judging panel will decide the winner, which will be announced on May 27.
