Cathy Allen, a pension specialist with more than 20 years’ industry experience, has joined the Bristol office of the accountancy and investment management group Smith & Williamson.
As an associate director in the firm’s assurance and business services team, Cathy, pictured, manages a range of pension scheme audits and other assurance work. 
She said: “Pensions trustees need specialist auditors that can provide robust challenges alongside industry insight to help them comply with increasingly complex demands while also adding value to their role in ensuring members get the most value from their pensions.
“I am delighted to join Smith & Williamson’s highly-experienced and specialist team, many of whom are also ex-scheme administrators. I look forward to working closely with a team which is known for its collaborative and flexible approach, bringing clients insights and alternative practices from across the pensions industry.”
Cathy joins from accountants PwC where she worked on pension scheme audits of all shapes, sizes and complexities alongside pension-related controls assurance.
