Bristol cloud hosting firm Evolved Intelligence, which works with many of the world’s largest telecom networks, is poised for a new phase of growth after being acquired by US tech business Mobileum.
Evolved Intelligence, based in Bradley Stoke, specialises in roaming value-added services, fraud and security and analytics for mobile telecoms operators and signalling providers. It has contracts with more than 60 mobile operators around the world. 
It said the takeover, financial details of which have not been disclosed, would allow it to invest in next-generation networks, triggering more rapid expansion.
Mobileum, headquartered in California’s Silicon Valley with offices in Argentina, Dubai, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Jordan, Singapore and Uruguay, is a leading global provider of analytics-based roaming and risk management services.
It delivers analytics that generate revenues, reduce costs and accelerate digital transformation for more than 600 communications service providers across 150 countries.
Mobileum said by combining Evolved Intelligence’s signaling firewall with Mobileum’s threat analytics platform, it will create an innovative intrusion detection and protection framework for network operators.
The acquisition also serves to strengthen Mobileum’s presence in Europe. Evolved Intelligence’s existing platform and architecture will be maintained and developed for further integration with the Mobileum active intelligence platform.

Mobileum, which was launched 17 years ago, has consistently grown its suite of analytics offerings in the years following its acquisition by Audax Private Equity in 2016.
