Bristol law firm Barcan+Kirby has relocated its central Bristol base from Queen Square to a refurbished office building a stone’s throw away in Prince Street.
The firm, which was formed in 2015 after a series of mergers between a number of smaller law firms, is leasing a 3,599 sq ft office suite in Prince House, pictured.
The five-storey, 18,261 sq ft building has been comprehensively refurbished by landlord Rowe Estates to provide a range of quality features, including comfort cooling, improved LED lighting, double glazing and showers.
Following Barcan+Kirby’s arrival this week, Prince House is now 80% occupied with just one office suite available on the first floor.
Other occupiers include Ascenti Health, the UK’s leading provider of musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy and mental health services, and recruitment group Venn.
Barcan+Kirby, which also has offices in Bedminster, Bishopston, Kingswood and Thornbury, signed a new 10-year lease off a quoting rent of £22.50 per sq ft, with a five year tenant break.
Tom Dugay, a partner in the Bristol office of regional property agency Alder King, which is marketing Prince House, said the building had benefited hugely from the refurbishment and provided “good-quality office accommodation in a desirable city centre location”.
Jayne Rixon of agents Burston Cook, who acted for Barcan+Kirby, added: “Moving from Queen Square to Prince House will allow the Barcan+Kirby team to operate from improved open plan space while remaining close to the many amenities on their doorstep.”
Barcan+Kirby supplies a comprehensive range of legal services ranging from corporate & commercial and employment to family and medical negligence.
Last month it won the coveted Law Firm of the Year (under 20 partners) Award at the 2023 Bristol Law Society Awards for the second time in four years.
