The UK Met Office has awarded SciSys key analysis and development work in the form of four new contracts worth in excess of £400,000. Chippenham-based SciSys, which has a base in Bristol,  is a leading developer of information and communications technology services, e-business and advanced technology solutions serving the environment and utilities sectors including major public and private sector clients.

Three contracts are for discovery phase development of new Met Office services by SciSys's Environment Division which will conduct a series of workshops and face-to-face meetings with the weather forecaster's staff and external customers. One of the projects, in the area of Space Weather, will also demonstrate the ability of SciSys to utilise expertise from across its other divisions.  The fourth Met Office project will require SciSys to port an existing solution onto the Met Office's new technology platform based on the Flex Framework.

SciSys chief executive David Jones said: "These projects represent a strategic win with a high profile new customer and demonstrate our ability to bring value to our customers across the full delivery lifecycle."
