More than 130 property and construction industry professionals from across the South West raised nearly £3,000 for charity at a quiz night organised by the Bristol team of property consultancy Ridge and Partners.
The firm’s annual Twelfth Night event raises money for the consultancy’s chosen charity partner. This year all proceeds from the event, held at Revolution Bar in the city centre, went to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. 
The total exceeded the target of £2,500 and is more than double the amount raised last year. It will go towards funding multiple research projects, including providing literature, guidance and grants for those living with cystic fibrosis, which affects more than 10,400 people across the UK – 92 of them in Bristol.
Multi-discipline property consultancy Ridge actively supports local communities, businesses and charities in each of the regions served by its 10 offices across the UK.
The 28-strong team in its Bristol base – which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year – raised more than £1,200 for 2017’s charity partners, Stepping Out Theatre Company, Beresford Group and Bristol Dogs and Cats Home.
Bristol partner Greg Aston said: “The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a charity very close to our hearts at Ridge, so it was a unanimous decision to pick it as our charity partner for 2018.
“We are delighted to have raised so much money for such a worthy cause and we look forward to continuing our fundraising efforts throughout the year. A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who came along and supported this popular event.”
Cystic Fibrosis Trust West region community fundraiser Jessica Barnard added: “We are incredibly fortunate that Ridge has chosen the Cystic Fibrosis Trust as its charity of the year for 2018.
“Cystic fibrosis is not something that many people really understand, and yet there are over 10,400 people living with the life-shortening condition in the UK and millions more carrying the gene.
“The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to supporting those affected by cystic fibrosis and this fantastic amount of money will go a long way.”
Ridge was named Construction Consultant of the Year by Building magazine, beating stiff competition from many other major players across the construction industry.
The firm offers a broad range of programme, project and cost management, surveying, architecture, design, engineering, health & safety, expert witness and property consultancy services across all market sectors.
Founded in Oxford in 1946, it now employs more than 590 people in its 10 UK offices and also has a base in Shanghai.
