Lawyer Heledd Wyn, who specialises in private client services and long-term care, has joined the recently opened Bristol office of Rothley Law as a partner.
With extensive experience in future planning, private wealth and Court of Protection matters, Heledd, pictured, provides expert guidance on Wills, Powers of Attorney, long-term care and asset protection for individuals and business owners.
She is also a trusted advisor on inheritance tax planning and trusts.
Heledd is particularly well-regarded for her expertise in long-term and elderly care issues. She is nationally recognised as an expert in her field and is regularly invited to deliver training and provide commentary in legal forums and the national press.
Rothley Law said her in-depth knowledge of care system funding, especially in navigating local authority assessments and challenging their decisions, made her invaluable to clients planning for their own or loved ones’ care.
She has significant experience with NHS Continuing Healthcare funding and contested applications to the Court of Protection.
In 2021 Heledd was named ‘Lawyer of the Year’ by the Bristol Law Society and has also been shortlisted for two additional accolades, the STEP Trusted Adviser Award and the Today’s Wills & Probate Industry Champion Award.
In addition to her professional work, she is a trustee of Gympanzees, the Bristol charity dedicated to providing inclusive play, exercise and social opportunities for children and young people with disabilities.
She has also served as a trustee for dementia research charity BRACE and is an accredited member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.
As a member of STEP, Heledd was part of its Mental Capacity Global Special Interest Group for six years.
She was previously a partner with Bristol law firm GL Law (formerly Gregg Latchams), which was acquired by national firm Shakespeare Martineau in 2022, becoming its first office in the South West and 11th across the UK.
Leicester-headquartered Rothley Law has eight offices across the UK.
