A Bristol recruitment firm specialising in supplying staff to some of the world’s best-known architectural projects, including the upcoming World Cup’s main stadium, is aiming to double its own headcount within the next year.
Tandem Talent was founded by Dan Huckle and Sam Jenkinson in 2020 to bring a new kind of in-house agency approach to the built environment, IT and retail sectors. 
It has since grown rapidly by working with internationally renowned architecture firms such as Foster + Partners and helping recruit for flagship schemes such as Apple Park in California and Qatar’s Lusail Stadium, where this year’s World Cup will be centred.
The firm now employs seven people and the founders – who had worked together before launching Tandem – are looking to double this over the next 12 months as the market continues to recover strongly following the pandemic.
Dan said: “Our approach is to support clients by developing a bespoke recruitment service, especially for those scaling quickly from, for example, 500 to 1,000 people.
“As the market has bounced back, so have businesses in this scale-up phase, which is great to see.
“However, it can be a tricky stage where leaders are still wearing lots of hats, so you need a senior consultancy that truly understands you from the inside out to create the necessary impact.”
This approach has also worked in other sectors, such as specialist retail, where Tandem has worked with brands including Snow+Rock.
Sam added: “While during the pandemic building projects were still in operation, we have seen an exponential shift in demand for specific talent pools and, as such, have substantially increased our market intelligence and reach.
“Needing more people is a great problem to have at this stage in our journey.
“We have invested in serious health and wellbeing and reward and recognition programmes so we’re looking forward to building a best-in-class team environment that fits with our overall ethos of partnership working.”
