Veale Wasbrough Vizards, the Bristol-based law firm, has appointed contentious probate and trusts specialist Marianne Nankervis as a senior associate in its contentious probate team, the largest outside London.
Marianne, pictured, who has worked at Wilde Sapte in London and most recently Bristol firm Osborne Clarke, joins Veale Wasbrough Vizards (VWV) to continue her work acting for professional executors and trustees as well as private clients in a wide range of disputes arising out of contested estates and trusts.
Marianne has been described by one client from a leading private bank as having “with the necessary expertise and gravitas”. And in recent editions of Chambers – the legal sector’s ‘bible’ – she is called “unflappable and experienced and is a well-respected player, having a strong track record”.
Marianne said: “I have always admired the quality of the work undertaken in the contentious probate team at VWV and am excited about joining them.
“I have spent 15 years building my contacts, especially within the private banking and wealth divisions of banks, and I am looking forward to bringing my experience to the team and the firm.”
Head of VWV’s private client and the contentious probate team Michelle Rose added: “We have an enviable reputation with our peers for having the largest contentious probate team outside of London.
“This is a very specialised area and not many firms at our level can say that they can do this work. Marianne’s arrival complements the team and means that we can increase our profile in the private banking sector.”
