National law firm Clarke Willmott is to launch a residential property team in its Bristol office as the city’s housing market continues to go from strength to strength.
The team will be led by newly appointed partner Samantha Grimwood as a partner. Samantha, pictured, has joined the firm’s private property and agriculture department to build up the team specialising in the residential market in Bristol and the surrounding area.
Clarke Willmott has not had a residential conveyancing team based in its Bristol office for some time, although there is an established team in its Taunton office.
The firm said Samantha’s experience and reputation was an opportunity to provide a more rounded service for clients and to build strong networks with local agents and so secure a steady stream of good instructions.
The team is launching with two fee earners and there are plans to expand it in the future.
Samantha qualified as a solicitor in 2006. She joined Clarke Willmott from Burroughs Day, where she headed the residential property team in its Bristol office. Burroughs Day was bought out of administration by Bristol law firm Metcalfes Solicitors in January. Metcalfes itself was then taken over by Gordon Dadds Group, the acquisitive legal and professional services business.
Prior to working at Burroughs Day, Samantha was a director at Lindleys solicitors (now Star Legal) and trained at Berry & Berry in Tunbridge Wells.
Clarke Willmott head of private property and agriculture, Mark Buckerfield, said: “Samantha’s considerable experience in residential property will be invaluable in this newly-created role that will involve developing a residential property team in the Bristol office.”
Samantha added: “I am very much looking forward to the challenge of building a residential property team at Clarke Willmott and enhancing the already extensive offering of this well-respected and growing firm.”
As well as Bristol and Taunton, Clarke Willmott also has offices in Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester and Southampton.
