Outsourced IT support firm NewGen IT has opened a base in Bristol following a period of significant growth.

The firm, which has been operating out of a converted stable in Northamptonshire for the last five years, decided to open its second office in Bristol as founder and technical director Stephen Souch hails from the area.

Based in The Old Stock Exchange on St Nicholas Street, the office will offer a remote IT support service for businesses that pay a small fee each month to have their own IT support team at the end of a phone.

Hardware such as laptops and tablets will also be available to buy through the office.

Stephen Souch said: “We have grown so much in the last five years that it made sense to take what has worked and replicate it in another geographical area.

“I still think of Bristol as my home town and still have family ties to the area. I also know Bristol and the businesses here well, so it made sense to make it part of our growth plans.”

NewGen IT said it would be looking for IT service engineers and customer account managers in the coming months to work with it.

Stephen added: “I’ve always had a passion for IT and computing and have been working in this industry for more than 10 years now. When I set up NewGen IT from my dining room five years ago I wanted to use my knowledge to help people.

“This personal approach has led to repeat business and word of mouth recommendations, resulting in fast growth.

“Now we’re looking forward to working with the people and businesses of Bristol and supporting them with their IT needs.”
