International law firm Osborne Clarke, which has its largest UK office in Bristol, put women first on its website yesterday in honour of International Women’s Day and to raise awareness of its commitment to diversity.
Anyone searching for a lawyer on site who will see female lawyers first in all the results – regardless of location, sector, service or position.
A promotional filter has also been added to the site so visitors can view all the firm’s 433 female partners and lawyers.
Diversity and wellbeing manager Su Akgun, pictured, said the firm wanted a unique way to shine a light on its female lawyers while embracing the spirit of progress.
“We are, quite literally, putting our women first,” she said.
Osborne Clarke international CEO Simon Beswick, pictured, added: “Our female lawyers are a big part of who we are and the service we provide to our clients.
“Celebrating them on International Women’s Day felt right but, in reality, it’s a small component of our commitment to diversity. Having a supportive and inclusive culture is a key focus for us and is part of what makes working for Osborne Clarke so unique.
“As a firm, we know that a diverse business means better collaboration, highly effective problem solving and even more innovative thinking.
“Ultimately that’s what our people and clients expect from us and it makes our business even stronger. We are working to ingrain diversity into everything we do and we are committed to investing and retaining the best female talent.”
Osborne Clarke, which employs more than 500 people at its Bristol’ office, is hosting a range of events across its 25 offices across the world to honour International Women’s Day.
