Alderley Systems, the South Gloucestershire firm supplying metering services to the global oil and gas industry, has renewed a major contract with the operator of one of the world’s largest onshore fields.

Under the three-year contract, the firm will be responsible for maintenance at sections of the Karachaganak Processing Complex and Bolshoi Chagan pumping station in north west Kazakhstan.

The contract includes guaranteed call out times, telephone support, periodic system health checks and onshore software backups.

The onshore fields, operated by multinational joint venture Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO), produce around 67m tons of oil a year and also have huge reserves of gas.

Alderley Systems engineering manager Robert Handley said: “We are delighted that our maintenance contract has been renewed so we can continue to support KPO in ensuring maximum performance efficiencies of their systems.

“We have worked with KPO for a number of years, winning our first contract for a condensate metering system and control system back in 1998. This contract renewal, which also offers guaranteed call out times with our multi-disciplined service engineers, will make sure we are available when KPO requires us, further strengthening our relationship with them.”

Alderley Systems is part of the Wickwar-based Alderley Group, the advanced engineering group supplying innovative metering, processing, treatment and control services to the global oil, gas and petrochemical industries. It has supplied more than 750 systems to 50-plus countries and has regional bases in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
