International building consultancy and architecture practice AHR has appointed Tom Murphy as regional director in its Bristol office as it continues its strong growth across the South West.
Tom, pictured, is a chartered building surveyor and qualified project manager and joins after more than 14 years at regional construction consultancy Bailey Partnership’s Bristol office, where he was a director.
His 19 years’ industry experience includes leading several multi-million pound projects for clients such as the Ministry of Justice and The University of Reading.
In his new role at AHR, Tom will be responsible for growing the practice’s building consultancy business in the South West across service lines including design and contract management; professional services; and asset and property management.
His role will also involve expanding the firm’s project management offering to new and existing clients.
Tom said: “AHR has a great ethos. It’s a collaborative practice with great opportunities to work on large scale projects across a variety of industries. My role will allow me to support growth across the business’ key sectors while further developing our offering to clients.”
AHR director Allan Hunt said: “Tom has a proven track record of managing a variety of large-scale projects from pre-feasibility right through to handover. He brings a wealth of experience and we’re excited to see how he’ll support the future of our South West office.”
AHR recently relocated its Bristol office from Clifton to the refurbished 1950s art deco Vintry Building on Wine Street. The firm has 10 offices across the UK and internationally.
