The new office of Weston-super-Mare based PR and marketing agency Plum Communications has officially been opened by the town’s mayor.

Cllr Keith Morris cut a ribbon as Plum welcomed clients and suppliers to the newly-converted building at Bleadon.

Local singer/songwriter and Plum client Ryan Inglis, a national finalist in the Live and Unsigned contest, entertained guests with classic Christmas hits and tracks from his album while local businesses Cupcake Cassidy and Crossman’s Cider provided snacks and drink at the event.

Founder and managing director Karen Morledge, pictured with the mayor at the office opening, launched Plum from her home in 2010. She said: “I’m still amazed that it’s grown from a standing start to the point where I’m opening a new office.”

The agency has worked with clients ranging from property developer Summerfield to training companies such as Matthew Cabot and from large-scale public sector bodies including North Somerset Council to ambitious start-ups.”

Cllr Morris added: “Many congratulations to Karen. It’s clear this business is a success because of all of the hard work that’s gone into it. It should also be noted that Plum’s growth is good news for the area; the office move has helped create jobs locally, and Plum supports a variety businesses across Weston-super-Mare and surrounding areas.”

Plum’s services include PR strategy, social media marketing, crisis communications planning, design, website development, and copywriting for print and web.
