Bristol law firm Meade King has promoted associate Simon East to partner as it continues to put its expansion plans into practice.

Simon, pictured, who joined Meade King just over six years ago, has established himself as an expert in commercial property law, representing landlords, tenants and investors.

He plans to increase the firm’s work with charities and will take on responsibility for staff training. His promotion takes the number of partners at Meade King to nine.

Simon said: “I intend in particular to grow our work in the charity sector, using my experience representing charities such as The George Muller Charitable Trust (the long-standing Bristol-based orphan charity).

“Meade King offers great access to experienced lawyers with specialist skills, whilst at the same time being approachable and down to earth. I am looking forward to taking on staff training, something I believe is essential if we are to continue delivering the sort of legal service our clients expect.”

“Meade King is a great firm to work for as it believes strongly in promoting a good work-life balance for staff, which in turn creates an environment conducive to providing a high standard of work for clients.”

Managing partner James Hawkins said:  “Simon brings great legal expertise in addition to his people skills and commitment to client satisfaction – we are very pleased to welcome him as partner.”

Meade King is one of the longest established legal firms in Bristol with roots going back to the 18th century.

It is also one of the few remaining independent Bristol based practices providing a full range of legal services to businesses and to private individuals.

Its move to larger offices on Welsh Back from nearby Queen Square just over a year ago has enabled the firm to set its expansion plans in motion.
