The managing director of accountancy firm Haines Watts in Bristol has hailed the appointment of new partner Andrew Jordan as a pivotal moment for the office.
Under Matthew Bracher’s leadership, staff numbers at Haines Watts Bristol have grown from 20 to 60 over the past five years, with turnover also rising threefold during the same period.
Now Andrew’s appointment as audit partner will support further growth over the next five years.
Andrew, pictured, right, with Matthew Bracher, joins from the Bristol office of regional accountancy firm Milsted Langdon, where he was general practice partner for nearly five years, working closely with a range of owner-managed businesses.
He has also worked for Bristol accountancy firm Corrigan and in the Bristol office of national firm Baker Tilly.
Matthew said: “Andrew’s appointment provides us with the ability to continue our growth at a pivotal moment for our business.
“His synergy with my vision and ambition was apparent from the start. We are both now focussed on taking the business forward and working with our clients in an empathetic way.
“We now have the opportunity to continue developing our role of providing accountancy, tax and advice to business owners in our unique way – by valuing the relationships we have with our clients, by really caring about what is affecting them and by listening and giving honest feedback. That is why our clients trust us. Andrew fits into this model perfectly.”
Andrew added: “When Matt approached me with the offer and the vision, it was clearly an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.
“Having heard good things about the firm for some time, it is great to see the way it values client relationships, alongside the emphasis on passion and authenticity from a diverse team.
“There’s been a real acceleration of change in the accountancy profession, over the past five years in particular. I’m looking forward to nurturing the necessary skillset across all levels of my new team.
“Following almost 20 years of working in the business community around Bristol, I am looking forward to working with Matt and the team to continue the growth of the firm in the city and the region. I am excited to bring my skills and experience to build on what I have already seen here.”
Matthew said that Haines Watts Bristol had started to carve out a niche in the city as an accountancy firm which specialises in close working relationships with business owners.
“We are looking to work with owner-managed businesses in a friendly, approachable and trustworthy manner,” he added.
“At its best, accountancy is a business function which works in partnership with its clients, offering constructive support rather than just occasional services.
“That’s what’s always differentiated us from our competitors and we want that to be our hallmark.”
Haines Watts’s Bristol office is one of 60-plus operated by the Top 15 firm across the UK. The firm supports more than 35,000 companies and business owners in industries spanning manufacturing, property, architecture, creative, food and drink and the third sector.
