Property advisory firm CBRE has gone up in the world for its new Bristol base, taking a penthouse suite on two floors of the city’s highest office building.
The move follows a period of sustained growth for the firm with an expanding portfolio of clients and increased staff numbers as Bristol’s commercial property market bounces back strongly from the downturn.
The firm now occupies the flagship 13th and 14th floors of Clifton Heights, having moved across The Triangle from Howard House, where it has been based for the past nine years.
The 8,000 sq ft of office space, with spectacular views across the city, will house CBRE’s Bristol team, which is now more than 50 strong and includes five new appointments in recent months.
Senior surveyors Katie Bohin and Lucy Miles and graduate surveyor Andrew Jackson are among the new recruits.
CBRE Bristol managing director Garry Hicks, who has been with the firm since it started out in the city in an attic office in Berkeley Square with just four members of staff back in 2003, said: “We have come a long way in a relatively short space of time and are focused on proving excellent client service and continuing to grow and expand the business over the next few years.
“Our aim when moving was to provide staff and clients with a first-class, agile working environment in line with our global branding, and Clifton Heights ticks all of those boxes. We look forward to building on our position as one of the major players in the South West and South Wales markets.”
CBRE Bristol started out specialising in agency and professional work but is now a leading force in property management, building surveying and investment services. The firm has a reputation for advising on some of the biggest Grade A developments in the city – it was recently appointed to market the £100m, 200,000 sq ft Aspire development, which at is set to be Bristol’s largest single office scheme.
The firm’s Bristol office also has a strong footprint in the retail sector and has been heavily involved in some of the region’s leading shopping destinations, including Cribbs Causeway and SouthGate in Bath, as well as acting for many national retailers including Primark and New Look.
