Accountancy and advisory firm BDO has promoted Shirley Whittle to the post of head of its medical services team in Bristol.
Shirley, pictured, who has nearly two decades’ experience in the medical services sector, advises clients across the South West and Wales.
She joined BDO in 2013 when it merged with mid-tier rival PKF, where she had worked for more than 18 years.
BDO’s medical services team is one of the UK’s leading specialist medical accountants, offering a full range of accounting and taxation services to GPs, locums and consultants.
Shirley, a regularly speaker at industry events, succeeds medical services partner Tony Stringer, pictured, who retires this week following more than 20 years with BDO.
Head of BDO Bristol, Andrea Bishop, said: “Tony has built a successful medical services, team and client portfolio at BDO in Bristol.
“We wish him well for his retirement and are confident that Shirley will continue to develop the specialist service offering across the South West and Wales.”
