Naomi Chesterman, an associate in the property litigation team at Bristol law firm Veale Wasbrough Vizards, is the new chairman of the South West branch of Women in Property (WiP).
Naomi, pictured, who has been a member of WiP for five years, will serve a one-year term at the helm of the networking and professional development organisation.
She is keen to grow the WiP presence and membership in the South West and has implemented a new focus for events which will mean that members will benefit from events based not only in Bristol, but also in Cheltenham, Chippenham, Bath, Taunton, Devon and Cornwall.
Naomi, who specialises in contentious property/planning matters for private and public sector clients, said: “We’ve just celebrated 25 years supporting women working in the property and construction disciplines. This starts with school visits when our members encourage girls to consider a career in the industry and continues with our National Student Awards, which seek to bring together industry and academia, to better prepare undergraduates for the world of work.
“Members have the benefit of professional and social networking events, WiP’s mentoring programme, nominations for awards and, as they become more senior, assistance in securing boardroom roles.”
