Claritas Tax, the independent national tax advisory firm that recently opened a base in Bristol, has appointed Dominic Preist as its head of sales.
Dominic, pictured, has more than 35 years’ experience in senior sales positions.
Based in Claritas’ Bristol office, his role will be to develop and execute a business development strategy that delivers sustained growth for the firm, combining all its service line expertise into strategically defined sectors.
He joins from the Bristol office of Markel Tax, where he spent three years as head of tax sales.
Prior that he worked at finance firms Jelf, Aon and Norwich Union in a range of sales roles.
Claritas was launched in 2012 to offer clients a different approach to the traditional accountancy model.
It says its unique, tax advisory-led approach has enabled it to work with some of the country’s leading businesses a range of sectors.
Having doubled in size over the past two years, it also recently opened an office in Glasgow to add to its existing bases in Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham.
Partner and head of its Manchester office, Matthew Hodgson, said the firm was embarking on a “very exciting chapter”.
“Taking on the head of sales role is a natural next step for Claritas, and one where I believe Dominic can make a significant impact as we deliver on our ambitious growth strategy,” he said.
“Dominic’s focus will be on both external initiatives and building our pre-existing client relationships, ensuring that all of our services are articulated to these audiences.”

Claritas’ Bristol office in Temple Quay is headed by partner Robert Brown, who joined the firm from regional accountancy firm Milsted Langdon ahead of it opening.
He has around 35 years’ experience in the sector, having spent most of his career in the Bristol offices of large national accountancy firms.
