Bristol-based international healthcare infrastructure specialist Archus has appointed Victoria Head as its new chief executive officer.
Victoria, pictured, was previously the firm’s commercial and performance director. She takes over from Richard Darch, who is stepping into a new role after founding the business in 2017.
Launched with a mission to shape the future of healthcare, Archus provides a range of strategic and infrastructure-related consultancy services to clients in the health and social care industry.
It has grown to have eight offices across the globe that between them have supported more than 900 projects.
These range from new GP surgeries and pandemic surge facilities to major new hospital developments and the ground-breaking NHS Net Zero Carbon Building Standard.
This summer it announced it is to expand into more markets after securing a £2m investment from NatWest.
Victoria has more than 20 years’ experience in the healthcare, consultancy and construction industries.
She began her career in the NHS, quickly moving into consultancy, where she managed capital projects and programmes and was sought out by clients for her exceptional project management and leadership skills.
Before joining Archus, she led the award-winning Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran, which successfully opened early during the Covid-19 pandemic. She joined Archus in 2021.
Archus chair Alex Sleeth said: “We are thrilled to announce Victoria’s appointment as the new CEO.
“Her extensive experience and proven track record make her the ideal leader to guide Archus into its next phase of growth.”
Will Gresty, an investor at BGF, which holds a minority stake in the business, added: “We are confident that under her leadership, the company will continue to thrive and achieve new heights.”
Richard Darch, pictured, will remain with Archus in an advisory capacity to ensure a smooth transition.
Under his leadership, the firm has achieved numerous milestones, including expanding internationally, becoming a B Corp organisation, and securing investment from BGF last year.
He said: “I am honoured to have led Archus and am proud of what we have accomplished together.
“I am confident that Victoria is the right person to lead the company forward and am delighted that we have identified such exceptional talent within our business to take it into its next phase. I look forward to supporting Victoria during this transition.”
Victoria added: “Together, we will continue to build on the strong foundation and drive the company towards even greater success.
“My vision for Archus is to become the most trusted partner in healthcare consultancy, known for our innovative solutions and unwavering commitment to improving patient outcomes.
“We will focus on expanding our services, embracing new technologies, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.”
