Bristol-based mutual society National Friendly has appointed Toney Quinn to the role of business development manager in a move designed to continue to strengthen its profile in the intermediary sector.
Toney, pictured, brings a wealth of experience of the insurance sector, having spent seven years with another mutual – The Exeter – as a key accounts manager.
Prior to that he was an intermediary sales manager at AXA PPP and also worked at Canada Life, where he was strategic accounts manager.
Toney said: “I’m delighted to be joining a progressive ambitious company in National Friendly. Their positioning as an over-50s specialist and the range of insurance products they have for this market, particularly those focussed on later-life care, is an innovative and important statement in these difficult times.”
National Friendly head of sales & marketing Wayne Carter added: “I am very pleased Toney is joining us as we seek to maintain our significant growth achieved over the past 18 months.
“Toney’s experience of working with and building volume via our brokers is a key part of our business plan going forward.”
Established in 1868, National Friendly specialises in private medical insurance, guaranteed life assurance, assisted living insurance, savings and investments. It has no shareholders and exists to serve the best interests of its 33,400 members. Its head office is on Bristol’s Queen Square.
