Bristol-based Resource Solutions Group (RSG), which launched 40 years ago and is now one of the UK’s largest independent recruitment organisations, has opened an office in Germany as the first stage of a Europe-wide expansion programme.
The Munich office is operating under the group’s Sanderson brand, one of its specialist resourcing businesses.
Initially opening with a team of five specialist recruiters with in-depth knowledge of the German market, it will provide a full service to clients and customers looking to attract talent in Germany and further afield.
The move follows five years of growth across the UK during which it has opened offices in Edinburgh, Manchester, London and Cardiff.
Last year the firm’s turnover reached a record £230m, and it now employs nearly 180 staff, mostly in its headquarters at Clifton Down.
Chief executive Mike Beesley, pictured, said: “We are very proud of what the business has achieved over the past few years.
“However, our roots will always remain in Bristol, as this is where our heart is. The quality of the people we are able to recruit for our own business from the city is one of the key reasons we have been able to be so successful in meeting our goals.
“Germany itself is an excellent place to begin our expansion plans as the country continues to experience strong economic recovery. It is likely that further overseas branches will follow in due course later this year.”
The expansion plans are part of a long-term strategy during which RSG has successfully realigned its key brands, Sanderson and Resource Management to create a more integrated offer for its expanding client base.
Sanderson already works with global companies as well as household brands and small and medium-sized firms to support business areas including IT, business transformation, finance and corporate services.
RSG director overseeing the European expansion programme, Nick Walrond, said: “Our commitment has been to hire the very best German recruiters to support us on our journey and it is this quest for high-quality talent that has primarily taken us to Munich.
“With this new team we will be operating with confidence both being able to understand the local culture and also practically, for example, where there are specific legislative or regulatory differences between home and abroad.
“Our regional offices across the UK have produced huge benefit for the group as a whole – at once both creating opportunity and helping us deliver on complex contracts where our clients need it most.
“As the economy continues to recover and the ‘war for talent’ intensifies, and we are very excited to for the first time to have a base in Europe that allows us to establish ourselves within a global setting.”
