Bristol-based Chinese takeaway and delivery brand Hotcha is set to open a new headquarters and production hub in the city as it continues to grow.
The company has taken a 19,000 sq ft industrial unit at Airfield House in Hengrove for food preparation and distribution, as well as providing its new head office.
The property includes a modern production/warehouse facility and incorporates 4,055 sq ft of open plan office space on the ground and first floors. The building is also energy efficient with green features such as roof mounted solar panels and a heat recovery system.
Hotcha needed to relocate from its base in South Liberty Lane, Ashton Vale, to meet the demand of its expanding network of restaurants. The firm has taken the new unit on a 10-year lease.
Property advisor Cushman & Wakefield’s Bristol office agreed the letting on behalf of the building’s landlord, a private pension fund, with JLL acting for Hotcha.
Cushman & Wakefield Bristol-based associate Philip Cranstone said: “This letting together with others concluded by Cushman & Wakefield over the last 12 months at nearby Hawkfield Business Park, underpin the current strength of the South Bristol industrial market, with occupiers taking confidence in the location from the new South Bristol Link Road, which is opened in January.”
Set up in Bristol in 2011 by James Liang, Hotcha now has 13 outlets, predominantly in the South West, offering ‘fast, friendly and fresh’ Chinese food.
Last year it secured £7.5m in funding to expand further, with 10 more locations in London and the South-East due to open over the next 18 months.
Giles Weir of JLL added: “Hotcha’s growth and continued expansion has been impressive and they are fast becoming a household name in the South West and further east as they roll out more outlets. Airfield House shows a 400% expansion in their warehouse needs and has proved to be perfect for their occupation going forward.”
