Law firm Clarke Willmott, which has a major base in Bristol, has strengthened its social housing team with two appointments that support its growth.

James Howard has joined as an associate in the firm’s London office from Batchelors Solicitors, where he was an associate for two years.

James, pictured right, has many years of experience working on behalf of developers and housing associates on major regeneration projects and on site acquisition. He is also experienced in commercial leases and has worked on several PFI projects.  At Clarke Willmott, James will focus on development transactions for the social housing sector in London and the south east.

Joining the Taunton office is new solicitor Tracyann Tweedie, whose background is in development and commercial property, where she has dealt with mainstream sales and disposals, commercial leases, as well as more unusual work in renewables.

Tracyann, pictured below, was most recently at Foot Anstey, where her work included acting for the Daily Mail and General Trust and Northcliffe Media on their property portfolio, with some high-value disposals. She also acted for landowners of rural sites for solar developments and sales to residential developers.  Tracyann is deputy chair of South Devon Rural Housing Association and brings knowledge and experience of the sector in the south west to her position.  In her new role at Clarke Willmott Tracyann will be working for Registered Providers in the south west as well as land acquisition and development schemes.

Clarke Willmott head of social housing Anne Hayward said: “We are really committed to investing in our teams and these latest appointments reflect our growth plans in social housing for several of our offices. Recruiting talented experts with the right skills and knowledge is critical to our plans for further growth: it’s wonderful to have James and Tracyann on board.”
