HR professionals and managers have been given an invaluable insight into what actually happens in an employment tribunal.
The mock hearing was staged by the Bristol office of leading law firm Ashfords, with staff from the firm’s highly-experienced employment team playing witnesses, advocates and panel members joined by practising employment Judge Stephen Wyeth.
The ‘case’ was based around the Equality Act and the dismissal of an employee. The event was attended by representatives from private and public sector organisations.
Partner and head of Ashfords' employment team Stephen Moore said: "We hold a number of these mock tribunals as we they are excellent way for HR professionals and managers to get a taste for the real thing.
"The event was a great success – entertaining as well as informative – and we had some extremely positive feedback. We hope to hold other such events in the future."
