Bristol-based lawyers at international legal practice Osborne Clarke have advised outsourcing group Mitie, also based in the city, on the disposal of ITS UK social care division.
The division, consisting of domiciliary care and homecare businesses Enara Group and Complete Care Holdings, was sold to specialist healthcare investor Apposite Capital for just £2.
The disposal forms part of Mitie’s previously announced strategy to withdraw from the low-margin domiciliary healthcare market. The market has been hit hard by government spending cuts – leading to a number of players exiting it.
Mitie, which provides a wide range of service from pest control to mail room services, property maintenance to security, has had a tough year during which it has issued three profit warnings and overhauled its management.
The Osborne Clarke team which advised Mitie was led by partner Mark Wesker, pictured, assisted by senior associate Damocles Merry and corporate associate Oli Gingell and tax partner Erika Jupe among others.
