Immediate Media, the Radio Times publisher with a major office in Bristol, has launched In The Moment, a monthly print magazine dedicated to helping women make the most of every day with mindfulness, creativity and wellbeing.

Immediate said the 116-page magazine, which went on sale last week, will embrace every aspect of women’s lives – friends, family, self, work, rest and play.

According to Immediate, which publishes around 70 magazine titles – among them Olive, BBC Top Gear and BBC Good Food – each issue of In The Moment will contain “positive features and stories to inspire”

These will include the latest creative trends with craft projects to match, plus health and fitness tips and a range of mindful activity ideas, such as walking, gardening and travel. With a sometimes light-hearted approach, readers will be encouraged to take time for themselves and enjoy the moment, according to Immediate.

Each issue also includes Take a Moment, an eight-page handbag-sized mini-magazine, including a soothing drink recipe, short story and puzzle. The first issue also includes a choice of positive prints, ready to be framed and displayed to help keep readers “motivated and inspired”, and card template sheets to create pocket sized greeting boxes.

Immediate publishing director Cath Potter said: “Interest in mindfulness has grown enormously in the last five years, and our society is crying out for ways to slow down and tune out, even if just for a few minutes.

“We want to find space within our busy lives to notice things and remember to enjoy them. In The Moment recognises that being more mindful doesn’t need to be heavy-going, and that it needs to fit within your lifestyle.”

Immediate was formed in 2011 when the BBC sold its magazines division to Exponent Private Equity. It was then combined with Bristol-based Origin publishing.

The Bristol office was further expanded in 2014 when Immediate paid £24m for Bath-based media group Future’s sport and magazine titles, including Cycling Plus, Simply Knitting and Mollie Makes. Around 130 Future staff were transferred to Immediate.

Immediate was acquired in January by German magazine giant Hubert Burda Media.
